INTERREG Europe launches its Policy Learning Platforms: What’s in there for the Covenant Community?

On 11 October 2016, the INTERREG Europe programme launched the Policy Learning Platforms at the European Week of Regions and Cities.

The Policy Learning Platforms aim to open up the knowledge gained within INTERREG Europe for the benefit of both project partners and the community of regional stakeholders, and to improve the implementation of Structural Funds and regional policies.

There is one platform per policy area covered by INTERREG Europe (low-carbon economy, environment and resource efficiency, research and innovation, support to SMEs), which offers participants and other stakeholders a range of ideas and inspiration on what a low-carbon economy looks like and how they can move towards it.

Regions can learn from each other on policy action and investments to improve energy efficiency in public buildings, housing, businesses and households; raising the share of energy from renewable sources; and introducing policies to facilitate more sustainable, low-carbon transport, and alternative mobility behaviours.

The public website features an extensive knowledge bank (a database of expert-validated good practices, policy recommendations, EU policy trends and thematic studies, analysis of approved projects and ROPs and events). When registering to the platform, users also get access to tailored advice on regional development issues, guidance in good practices and practitioners' databases targeting the managing authorities and public authorities.

Save the date – The third call for INTERREG Europe project proposals will run from 1 March until 30 June 2017.
